Give him some time to get use to it. I spent 200 on a cat tree for my boy. It took him almost a month for him to like it and start using it on a regular basis. It took about 3 weeks before I saw my cat in his hammock and he used it everyday. I bet as soon as you go to work he will decide to chill in his new hide.
