I adopted this baby a year ago and she’s still a little wary around people. I’m pretty sure the person who had her before me mistreated her. There’s a scar on her nose. I don’t understand people. She’s so sweet. It makes me sad that someone hurt her before I got her

The scar could have been from another bun.

I am sure that you will make a great parent for the bunny

Some bunnies are more bunny or people oriented by nature, but they can still be very happy as long as they are loved and well-treated as yours is. My girl (she died recently) was always very standoffish around humans, including me, but was beyond loving with her mate. She did eventually warm up, especially as she got old and needed more of my help and care, but she was never going to be a people bunny like my boy and others I’ve had. I saw her with the woman I got her from and the way she was handled seemed super traumatic to me, and I wasn’t the one in her hand being bopped back and forth for “kisses”.

The sad part is that she may never show you the kind of affection you might want and expect based on other bunnies. The very happy news is that she will find ways of her own to make you know you are loved and appreciated, and can have a wonderful life loving beside you. And it looks like she has bunny companions, so you’ll get to see her living her best life with them.

Thank you for giving her safety and the chance of a happy life where humans can be trusted.

    So beautiful
    People are idiots
I wish there is punishment for those idiots who mistreated their animals.

…I think we own the same rabbit..

On another note why on earth would someone purposely hurt a small innocent little thing.. like the saying “all kids deserve parents but not all parents deserve kids.” This would apply but.. pets.. instead of “kids”

Some bunnies take longer than others to warm up to a human and some may never. One of my girls is pretty leery of me after a year and half but slowly I’ve been able to earn her trust. If yours did go through some trauma it might take longer. I would keep doing what you’re doing and hopefully some day she’ll come around. I know it can feel like defeat some days but every day you show her love is a good day for both of you. ❤️

It takes time. It took me a year to be able to pet my bunny. Even now, it’s not a thing she enjoys all the time. I still can’t pick her up, but I can give her kisses on the top of her head. She’s okay with other people in the house as well. Give her time. ❤️
