I sandwich between my elbow and hip while sitting down, even wiggling they can’t get free. Slightly rotating the bum under them just so I have access to the back feet. If you’re holding any thing like in the first pic… That’s the reason. Lol

There are nail file grinder things that can at least take the sharp edge off them after the trim.

i always scatter treats on the floor and sneakily cut one at a time sometimes it takes 2 days in total for all of them to get clipped but its way less stressful on me and my bun
