Adorable Baby Bunnies Eating Lunch

Four-week-old baby bunnies enjoying alfalfa pellets with Mom. This rabbit was a rescue found in LA’s Filipinotown, and my friend agreed to adopt her. We’d had her checked out by a vet, who actually did an x-ray to be sure she wasn’t pregnant… Well, the babies were ninjas because a week after she moved into her new home, my friend got home from work to find five baby bunnies. All of them are moving into good homes at the end of six weeks, when they’ll be ready to leave Mom.

The pellets are a treat– rabbits should be fed primarily hay, alfalfa when young and timothy or oat when full-grown. Mama (named Shiloh) is under a year, so she gets alfalfa hay too. The wire cage is a temp (wire-bottomed cages can lead to cagefoot, a painful condition).
