A tiny pet bunny rabbit sleeping with googly eyes! The googly eyes on rabbit don’t bother the rabbit at all. Rabbit google eyes are fun! The rabbit is a free roam rabbit who likes dreaming about eating, digging, and running. We always get asked, “Do rabbits sleep with their eyes open?” This answers the question once and for all!
Why googly eyes, or jiggly eyes, on a rabbit? To show how soundly the rabbit sleeps and how relaxed the rabbit is, of course! Often, the rabbit sleeps very soundly. Other times, the rabbit reacts to the slightest noise imaginable. No matter what, though, when he is dreaming and you put food near him, he starts to lick his lips and eat the food in his dream. We hope he is dreaming about nice – maybe making a rabbit eating ASMR video, perhaps!
When we tried this experiment, we thought for sure that when we set the googly eyes on the rabbit, he would wake up. However, the rabbit did not wake up right away. We left the googly eyes on the rabbit for a minute, but right after this, he started dreaming, causing him to tilt his head back and the googly eyes fell right off. The rabbit did not wake up, though – he just kept eating in his dream.
For real though – do rabbits do sleep with their eyes open? Yes, sometimes rabbits do! When Pipkin rabbit really starts dreaming, like REM sleep, the rabbit tilts his head back all of the way. The rabbit will then start to run. Then the rabbit starts to chew, or to eat something – almost like the rabbit ran over to a delicious food in his dream and starting eating.
