Recorded 7.7.2026. It’s been a few weeks since I’ve seen any new babies and last night I saw at least 3 from 2 different litters! It’s possible, but highly unlikely, they’re from the same litter since they are on opposite sides of our yard and the kits appear to still be nursing and therefore staying very close to their nesting sites. These are the first few precocious ones to venture from the nest to get nibbles. 2 (#1 and #3) are in “still mode” when I see them, meaning, they are trying not to move so I won’t notice them. But #2 munches away near a patch of lavender.
Yay for new babies!
All the bunnies on this channel are eastern cottontails (Sylvilagus floridanus), the most common rabbit species in North America.

Twosday and 2 new litters of kits! I'm aware that today is Wednesday 😂. But I recorded these teeny babies last night (Tuesday) and was hoping to share this video then, but this time of year is just too busy. Was out stalking baby bunnies and gathering berries (blackcap and red raspberries are exploding here right now) past dark. 🥰
