Finally have a Tilly update

The vet called with Tilly's EC test results. It was still negative, which is a relief but it also now leaves us with more questions than answers.

She said the blood work did show a lot of inflammation, which really isn't surprising, given her symptoms. She's doing a lot of digging now to see if she can come up with something, but as of right now, we're looking at a possibility that it might be sarcocystis. Tilly did come from an outside hutch before we got her, and her hay was constantly in contact with the predators that carry the parasite too.

She also thinks that some of the symptoms (like her inability to hold her tail straight and peeing on herself) may be from a secondary problem, most specifically a possible lower spinal injury. So once we're able to afford it we're going to have an MRI done to confirm.

She has also been on Meloxicam since Monday, which seems to be helping a little. Tilly has been walking flat-footed on her back feet since we got her. No running, no binkies, just careful and slow hock walking. After a few days of anti-inflammatory, she actually started carefully rolling into her back toes as part of her stride. So I'll take that as a little win at least.
