Yesterday morning my bun was acting weird and didn’t want treats, even bananas. I rushed him to the vet and after an x ray, the vet confirmed advanced stasis. We’re on all the meds and today he finally did poop/ is eating hay and I am hopeful that we are on the mend. My question: I’m debating cancelling an upcoming trip so I can be with him. Right now I have him and his bun wife separated so I can monitor his poop. I have someone coming to the house twice a day while I’m away, but I’m scared to leave him. Should I cancel the trip? Should I keep them separated so my pet sitter can confirm he is pooping? I’m scared and not sure what to do. If he makes a full recovery, can stasis just happen again the next week or do I have time?
