This is Lucky! The day before yesterday, he hurt his foot and I honestly have no idea how. It was 4 in the morning and I heard him suddenly run behind my headboard as if he was spooked, then after a bit of coaxing he came out but was limping. I don’t have anything high he could have jumped from so I think he might have wacked his toe on something.
Anyway, I gave him some pain killers (arthrocam) and took him to the vet as soon as possible the next morning. He’s eating and drinking fine so they’ve recommended I monitor him for 7 days (with medicine) to see if he gets better, but if not, they recommend a comprehensive x-ray (£700) or a single x-ray (less recommended but £300). His pinky toe seems out of place (not sure if you can tell in the video) and I really want to go with the comprehensive to make sure they can tell what’s gone on. Problem is, I do not have £700, or £300 for that matter. I’m 19, work part-time and go to college, usually I would have that kind of money since I don’t have to worry about rent – but unfortunately, I wasn’t paid this month. My parents also can’t help.
I was wondering if RSPCA could help, if vets did pay plans or even if I should just sign up for a couple of credit cards then work to pay it off. I’m embarrassingly financially illiterate so any advice would help!
