Hello fellow rabbit lovers, I wanted some opinions or (friendly) advice if anybody wants to give me input, about my senior rabbit new space/area.
So this is Vanella, she is a holland lop that will be 12 years old this year 🥲 in her beginning years, she had much bigger space, a whole room for herself. She was living her best life, but then she started getting major cataracts in her eyes and her hearing was getting bad. I reduced her living area so she could feel more comfortable, since she was kinda blind. She’s been happy like that for 5 years or so. In the last year, her arthritis has gotten worse and she’s definitely deaf and almost completely blind (she can see when there’s motion in front of her, or light being shined), I fear her time may come in this year or next year. Other than that, she’s still eating, drinking, grooming herself, getting in/out of her litter box (but struggles sometimes and pees on the floor, I’m working on a solution for a better litter box), she even still enjoys spending time with her favorite thing, my dog lol, she gets happy jumps after spending time with her.
ANYWAYS, I just changed her living area to something a little more confined. She was struggling for a few hours adjusting at first, she was confused, but I had my dog spend time with her in there and she went back to her normal self (that’s my trick everytime I change her space, telling y’all, she LOVES my dog). My question is: does this look like enough space for her?? She doesn’t do much, she mainly sleeps all day long. She occasionally walks around but barely due to her arthritis I’m sure. I just want opinions on her space size.
Thanks!
P.s, I promise she gets hay and fresh greens, she just ate it all (she still eats quite a bit for an elderly rabbit!)
