Soft foam mats for sore hock prevention?

Leeloo just turned 5!!!! She had her annual wellness checkup and vaccine booster and did great! She has some pink on her back feet, beginning of sore hocks. I’ve been monitoring for awhile. It never gets worse then what the vet saw, and will clear up for a few weeks/months, and then come back as just a small pink area.

I’ve put down those fleece mats/beds (marketed as guinea pig cage liners) on all her fave carpet spots since the carpets not the softest, but she’s a jerk and often rearranges them off her fave spot and sleeps next to them (last pic 🙄)

My concern has always been her favorite cardboard house. She sleeps there A LOT. I’ve tried putting in different kinds of fleece blankets/mats but she digs them into the corner and lays on the cardboard. I’m thinking I can cut some foam tiles to fit so she can’t move them, the vet suggested them as well as adding softer bedding in her litters, since I use the recycled newspaper litter.

Suggestions for SOFT foam tiles? She’s not typically a chewer and I think I’d try to wrap them in fleece anyway.

Pic 1- Leeloo’s cardboard house she sleeps a lot in, that I want to add tiles to on the inside level

Pic 2- Leeloo being a jerk and rearranging the soft fleece mats away from her fave spot so she can sleep in between the soft fleece, direct on the harder carpet

Pic 3- can’t believe she’s 5 but was so good at the vet!!

Pic 4- she’s so stinking cute.
