I’m trying to bond my 9yo male rabbit with two 3yo female rabbits, all of which are fixed, but he just won’t stop humping them… Faces, butts, sides, it doesn’t matter. The minute we start a playdate in the shared living room area, he gets straight down to it.
I’ve had the male bun for about 6 years and adopted the female buns 3 months ago with my partner and their supervised playdates were going great for TWO MONTHS with mostly neutral to positive interactions until the dam broke. Not sure what changed, but he’s relentless and doesn’t respond to negative reinforcement (i.e. squirt bottle to the back, immediately removed/isolated, hand over the eyes, stern language). The girls bow to him but he doesn’t notice, though one grooms around his eyes sometimes. They’re also kept in separate rooms most of the day and take turns running around the living room where these playdates are held.
