so my grandmother (the owner of my camper) no longer wants my rabbit in my camper full time. He can still come inside but she said his main area needs to be outside because he “makes the camper look dirty” . so her idea is to take this old building that she uses to store glass jars and cups, and run it into a rabbit pen. Here’s what i’m thinking. we’re gonna put it right next to my big camper window so i have eyes on him at all times. it has 4 windows that we’re gonna make bigger. it’s tall enough for two stories so we’re gonna build a second floor with a ramp going to it. in the summer we’re gonna put fans in the windows and maybe even an AC in one of them, if i can find one small enough. in the winter i’ll use a heat lamp or 2 (i don’t know how many i’ll need yet) and lots of hay; on really cold days he will be inside with me, same for the really hot days too. then i’m thinking of using his old pin and making an area on the ground with a ramp going up into his house and a awning, so that when I’m outside and can watch him, then he can also have outside time and i don’t have to worry about eagles and hawks, etc. the house is also raised off the ground so i don’t have to worry about small predators. though i am worried about the big ones. so i’m thinking of putting a camera on the inside so i can watch him, and one on the outside so i can prevent anything.
Also i just want to note, i don’t want to hear shit about me being a bad bunny mom just because i’m putting him outside. I already called animal control and they said as long as he has air flow, access to water, and access to shade then it’s legal and safe to have him outside. And of course i’ll bring him inside at least once a day for a few hours. And like i said previously said, on the really cold and hot days he will be inside.
Politely, let me know your opinions and ideas on his house. like Is there more i could do to it, i would love ideas on how to make it cuter and better. Is it even a good idea and plan?
Leaving him inside all the time isn’t an option anymore, not until i can get a new place to live. He Has To Be Outside.
