Miso, my moose, my goose, my queen, my sweet baby girl. I can’t believe I’ll never see your majestic dewlap, be able to marvel at your feet, or be honked at when I got too close again. I understand why you chose to follow sweet Kimchi, you just missed him too much, but now you’re both gone and I miss you both endlessly.
I hope you knew how loved and adored you were. I have no idea what happened to you before you got to the shelter, but you were so afraid of everything, I can only imagine. I’m so sorry that I had to handle you so much towards the end, curse those lop ears of yours, I know you hated it, but you were always so good. You were so afraid of everything, but you never let that stop you. You’d explore the world at your own pace, learned that taking treats from human hands is nothing to be afraid of and would honk and stomp loudly whenever we got too close – and that all meant the world to me.
You had such a brave heart and you battled your chronic illnesses fiercely. I wish I could’ve taken all the pain from you. You loved to spend all summer on the balcony, letting the summer breeze blow through your fur, digging to your heart’s content and eating all my plants. Here’s a secret: I planted those strawberry plants for you to eat, I only pretended to be mad at you, because watching you joyously binky away only to return to the scene of the crime minutes later, brought me so much joy.
You were so gentle, but had such a spirited streak to you, you loved your bunstruction, throwing your food around the room and fighting your stacking cups. Watching you have fun made me so happy, and I play those memories in my head over and over again.
You never grew fond of humans, but boy did you love and adore your bunny husband kimchi. You’d groom him for hours and the two of you would spend most of the day cuddling each other. Your love was beautiful to watch, and losing him must have been so devastating for you. He was your rock and your anchor and showed you that the world is nothing to be afraid of. I’m glad you found love again with Knödel, but I know that it was not the same as with kimchi. It brings me comfort to know that the two of you are reunited again.
I hope the two of you are currently cuddling in an evergreen field, with the eternal sun shining on your beautiful fur and a soft breeze blowing past ears that hurt no more. I’ll never forget you my beautiful angel, you were so loved and are so missed.
