Rabbit

rabbit has unmeasurable amount of rage towards singular, specific bar of x-pen

Hello!

So Fisher, my neutered male rabbit (6 months old), is chewing the wires of his x-pen. He's at it as I type this. Except, it isn't the wires, it's one specific wire. He is practically swimming in toys and other things he can chew (and does chew!), but is obsessed with this one wire.

The problem is, if he does manage to damage it, he likelihood of him getting his head stuck between the bars etc or injuring himself (or his sister injuring herself) on the sharp wire is worrying. This behaviour has only begun recently, after I got a new x-pen due to moving to a new place (I thought it might be a stress behaviour, but he shows no other signs of stress).

For the record, this little boy is free roamed 7am-9:30pm, is smothered in love, and eats very well. He was given a complete health check-over when he was neutered and they identified no dental problems.

The worst part?? When he's not inside the x-pen…he goes around and chews that same wire FROM THE OUTSIDE!! I genuinely think this boy has 2 braincells and they are huddling together for warmth.

Still, I'm a little worried in case this is a symptom of something wider or a health issue, so any advice would be appreciated. Otherwise, feel free to join me in fundraising for his IQ to be raised by 1 (which would result in a grand total of 2).
