Hi everybody! My bunny doesn’t seem to be too interested in exploring her surroundings or interacting with me lately. She does occasionally leave her pen and inspects if something unusual is going on, but mostly she prefers to stay inside and lay on her side. She also eats a lot, I have to refill hay a few times per day, compared to twice a day up to this time. She gained some weight. Her behaviour changed quite a lot, she usually would explore a bit and then come to me for some cuddles.
She is a three year old disabled rescue bunny, so probably some of the behaviours might stem from that. She’s been with me for a bit over a year.
I’m trying to get her to move and explore by moving stuff around, putting small snacks into toys for her to dig in or run around with, but as soon as the snacks disappear she loses interest and goes back to pen.
She eats well, drinks a lot and poops regularly. I will go to the vet because I am getting worried.
Have you noticed your bunnies change behaviour like that? Could it be because of the seasons change? Do you have any tips to interest a bunny in exploring?
Thank you in advance!
