Looking for some recommendations on grated litter boxes, preferably with sides/guards. This rescue boy pisses like a race horse and I am burning through litter. I use carefresh with my own rabbit and go through a 60l bag ever 5 weeks. This guy goes thr a bag every 1 1/2 weeks
He is a 2lb chonk

I have used the grated litter trays but I gave up because the hay was still getting wet anyway and I was worried the grates wouldn’t be that comfortable to stand on long term.
Have you tried pine/wood cat litter pellets? They are extremely absorbent, and in my country cheaper than carefresh type bedding, so changing litter type might be helpful for you.
I got one with “walls” custom made on Etsy because my bunny loves to kick her litter out. It has a mesh too to prevent digging.
The seller is called PhillyCreations if you want to check it out.
The bumbox comes in a deluxe size for big buns. I use it with pine pellets from Tractor supply. I don’t put hay in the litter box just in a hay box next to it.

The Rooly litterbox is the only one I like!
