So my little guy Gatsby has had a slight limp the past few days and I checked his feet and he does seem to have sore hocks
Still eating and pooping fine and hopping around and he seems happy
My 3 buns are all totally free range they have the entire apartment with pillows and they even chill on the couch sometimes
Gonna call the vet Monday and get him looked at
But I have a few question is do I need to get new carpets?
What could be causing his sore hocks?
The other 2 dont have sore hocks at all
And is this second skin stuff safe for them?
Any advice is welcome ive had rabbits for years but none of them ever had these on their feet

Do you clip his nails monthly? Sometimes if their nails get too long it causes them to lean more pressure toward the back of their feet.
His nails look super long in the third pic, it could definitely be that! He may have fast growing nails and thin fur on his heels, which can be a bad combo. Maybe clip his nails more frequently than your other bunnies if they don’t have the same issue.
I’ve heard new skin can be fine, but I’d ask the vet when you go. They may not recommend anything topical if they’re not cracked or bleeding. For my bunny who deals with sore hocks the vet has us use faux “medical” sheep skin in the areas she hangs out in, which has helped a lot. I just bought little boots off of Amazon. She doesn’t seem to mind them and they appear to be healing.
