Rabbit

Desperately need advice on fixed boy’s litter issues

How many days do I need to keep a fixed rabbit locked up in a smaller space for their litter skills to improve? He regressed completely since I moved him from my living room to my bedroom (though the first two days after I moved him he was fine! Since then, I can’t let him out without multiple piles). In the three weeks since i adopted him, he’s gotten so much worse when it comes to pooping OUTSIDE of his enclosure, mainly in my entire room on my rug, though not necessarily the living room where his largest free roaming area is. Inside, he’s totally fine and goes in his litter tray.

I just have a hard time believing anything more than 2 days is going to matter; he poops and pees fine in his litter box when he IS enclosed. But when I let him free roam, he poops everywhere in my room. Is 7 days of lock up really going make a difference from 2 if he KNOWS where to go potty but refuses to use his litter when he’s free roaming?

I’m running out of solutions and I’m getting nauseous with how much I have to clean my rug. I’m so unbelievably stressed about how badly he’s regressed, and it breaks my heart because he’s very sweet and coming to trust me so much, giving kisses and letting me pick him up, etc… but his litter skills weren’t what they used to be even just weeks ago

Added this litter box outside his enclosure in the spots he always goes, and it didn’t help at all

(He doesn’t poop when he eats, never has, not even with his previous owner)
