My new and improved setup for my bun, which I rescued in March! A total of 48 sq ft, which includes his own built-in tunnel, making a sort of split-level enclosure. I have never owned a rabbit before, but the distribution system chose me, and I have been researching and learning as much as I can to give mine the best life possible.
That being said, I would love to hear any and all advice on his current setup, and any further improvements that can/should be made. One quick improvement I would like to add is a ramp, even though he doesn't seem to have any issues getting between levels. Part of me is just worried about "undue" stress on his joints or something, even though the vet and I are pretty sure he is a relatively younger rabbit.
Additionally, I am considering getting a second rabbit because I have seen that many people suggest keeping them in pairs, but I worry about the space. Would I need to expand again for a second rabbit? What other changes would need to be made to accommodate? Any and all suggestions would be great! Thank you!
