Any exotic / rabbit savvy docs here? Or people who have experienced this? I’m desperate because my primary vet is closed.
Background: 11, almost 12 yo Netherlands dwarf started having seizures earlier this year. Treated for EC empirically, had blood work and imaging (x ray only) done 5 mos ago, good outcomes other than arthritis.
Her teeth grow because as she’s gotten older she’s eaten less hay. We notice less seizing when her teeth are clipped down, and more when it’s time for a trim, so doctor kind of chocked it up to excess drool and having trouble breathing / swallowing. Other than that, perfectly healthy and normal bunny and very active……
Here’s the problem.
Today she’s had 7-8 seizures that we know of. She’s completely limp and her breathing is fast and shallow, and sounds like she’s congested. Her eyes are watering and her mouth is drooling. I have her swaddled and she seems to be comfortable this way and responding well to my affections. The emergency vet said they’d basically give her fluids. I’m going to try to get in with our normal doc tomorrow but idk do any of you have anything to say???? Please
