bonnie came to her new forever home at 3pm today and as soon as i got her out of the carrier once she was dropped off she started chewing on a toy straight away! she of course did run and hide in her new big hide once she realised it was there. not even ten minutes later probably i checked the camera and she was out eating, i just wasn’t expecting that straight away. within two hours she had been running around, eating, drinking from her bowl and bottles, playing with toys, checking the place out, could sense my other rabbit on the other side of the shed and was very intrigued, and even learnt how to jump up onto her hide 🥹 i’ve been obsessively watching the camera. she just seems so comfortable already, and the best of it all she’s eating her hay still and there’s poops in the tray! i of course have been giving her the space she requires being new to our home and i have only gone in there three times throughout the time she’s come and she did run and hide all times. although i was in there just then giving food out to the bunnies and she popped her head out and sniffed my leg (it was probably because she wanted more food but ill take it because it was very brave of her especially with it only being almost four hours later from almost an hour ride in a car and being left at a random home).
i just feel so happy that she’s not ignoring to do all of these things and hasn’t shoved herself in a corner and stayed there. is this like a honeymoon stage though? is she going to get scared and stop doing all of them? i’m a bit worried that i’m getting too happy and this is just a one off 🥲 i was just expecting it to be a lot more stressing.
