For context my guy is a free roaming American Heavyweight Silver Fox around eight months old.
He’s super sweet and and shy, but he loves to get his zooms in super early in the morning at pretty much the same time every day.
I have absolutely no issues with him outside of this one thing he does where he likes to compulsively, lick and pick at the carpet and rugs. He’s done this since the day I brought him home, back in July. I throw that part in they’re hoping that maybe that might help some people here maybe have some ideas for toys. Maybe some kind of toy he can tug at?
I’ve bought him scratch mats, chew toys of various types, we tried pinecones and those little ball things made of straw. So far he’s just not really a toy guy.
He’ll keep them around. He’ll keep them in his little spots he likes to chill in and in his hutch. He keeps them close by, but he never really messes with them.
The only thing I’ve really had any real luck with is those little cat tube things, and cardboard boxes.
He seems to like when I set them up around his little chill spots, so he has fun little ways to get in and out of where he wants to go.
He’s a happy little dude, and as sweet as can be. He’s always laying around me and hanging out and stuff so I don’t think he’s necessarily bored, I’m just trying to come up with something.
After the first of the year, I’m going to get him fixed finally. Then once he heals up from that, my plan was to hopefully get him a bun mate maybe sometime around Easter.
