Hi all! A day or so again I posted a bunny that was in my yard making sure it was a domestic. I felt a little stupid asking because I’ve had rabbits for over twenty years and was like 100% sure he was domestic, but anxiety had me second guessing myself. The little one was super easy to catch, literally walked right up to him and grabbed him. He’s super friendly and cuddly so I knew he was used to humans. I got him all set up in my bathroom with hay, some pellets, a place to potty and water. I posted him on my local city fb group and lost/found pet groups. Someone recognized him as their neighbors rabbit, and got me in contact with the neighbor. They came and picked the little guy up today. His name is Rocket and he’s an indoor/outdoor rabbit. He had escaped from his outside pen. They were worried something terrible had happened to him, so they were very thankful to get him back safely. They said they were going to reinforce his outdoor pen so he won’t be able to escape again. I could tell they genuinely loved him, and were so ecstatic to get him back. My boy is strictly an indoor rabbit and in an ideal world this little guy would be to. But, I can’t force them to keep him inside. I just pray he doesn’t get out again, because we do have foxes, coyotes and hawks in the area. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for him just incase. If he unfortunately gets out again, hopefully he’ll remember our yard and come here again. I’d gladly take him back in again!
