Long ago, our rabbit would always let our guinea pig sit ontop of him like this, was this normal?

Long long ago, we had a rabbit and guinea pig, who we used to have together in one place (recently read up that its not a good idea to do that), but when we had them, they would alot of time ontop of each other like this?

Was this normal? what was it?
