Rabbit

First time bunny owner have some questions

First question I have is why do they only like to bite my feet? They are comfortable enough to let me pet them, sleep next to me and everything. So I'm quite confused what I did wrong. I've had them for 3 months now and they're 4 and a half month old now if I'm not mistaken. They're not neutered yet because I don't know the appropriate age to do it. The biting occured a few weeks ago out of nowhere.

2nd is, is this a good rabbit food? I tried to do a research on it but I can't find a review.

(Also, is it normal that they take a nap after eating?)

Thanks for any help 🩷

Congrats on your bunnies, they are so cute!
As the bot also said, the nipping can mean quite a lot of things, depending on the situation. It also depends on if it is a gentle nipping or full on biting.
Right now is a good time to neuter them – especially because they probably have a baby bond and they could fall out of it at any time. Do it as soon as you can. I am assuming that they both are the same gender. If they are different genders, there is the possibility of mating – you do not eant that.
Oxbow pellets are a great choice – anything that is some kind of a muesli though is a no-no. If they like Oxbow, I suggest you keep using it.
And yes, napping is fine – mine have designated nap times throughout the day. They usually sleep in short intervals and they are the most active at dawn and dusk.

Good luck with your new babies, hope they have their best life with you!

Hi! It seems like your first experience was similar to mines so maybe I could be of help to be insightful on raising bunnies. Congratulations!!!

Depending of how old they are I wouldn’t feed them too many greens and pellets first just the recommended amount to adjust their digestive system otherwise it can cause sensitive issues later. They may still need to be eating alpha hay for their growth then gradually change to Timothy hay after 6 months of age.

I would also ask a veterinarian for any advice to care for bunnies while they are so young. It’s great to discuss when the best time for your bunnies to get spayed or neutered as well with them. Bunnies nipping your feet is their way of getting to know you and seeing how you walk to move in their surroundings as well! They will also take a nap after eating to show their comfort and feeling satisfied. From the pictures, they do seem to have quite a bit of hair so do keep up with the grooming routine as well.

Separate them as soon as you can but also talk to your vet about getting them neutered.

If you keep unfixed rabbits living together, eventually they will mate and fight.

separate them ASAP! If they’re about 4 months and not neutered, they’ll start fighting soon. You’ll need to keep them separate until they’re healed from being fixed. Then you’ll need to go through the process of bonding them. Most vets neuter after 6 months.
