Sapphire had surgery to remove a tooth in early August and never made a full recovery. Unfortunately an infection spread which spread to her sinuses and eyes, and deteriorated her jaw bone. A second surgery was conducted and it only made things worse. Now her entire nasal passage is infected and the vet said there's nothing more they can do as the infection is too advanced, and since she has responded well to treatment.
She's only 5 and a lion head rabbit. I really thought I'd at least have 2-3 more years with her.
I'm devastated that I have to say goodbye to her and euthanise her in the next few days.
I wish these precious animals lasted forever.
