My sweet girl’s name is Ellie. I am moving 17 hours away a year from now. I really don’t want to get rid of Ellie, but I’m worried about how she’ll take such a long car ride. My plan is to drive her in a separate car (all of my belongings will be in a different car or a box truck), with all of her stuff. I will rent a car that drives smooth and is big enough to fold the back seats down and have a mini enclosure for her. An actual enclosure, not just a carrier. This would include a litter pan, water, and food. I would drive as carefully as possible the whole way there, stopping at hotels so that Ellie can rest every night instead of being in the car for 17 hours straight. Is this a good idea? What’s the longest I should drive with Ellie before letting her rest?
I asked CharGPT before I thought to ask here, will attach its recommendations. Everything it said seems reasonable, but I’m curious what everyone here thinks. Thank you!
