Bunny

Wild bun update 3

Bun is not yet released but he’s getting real floofy and doing very well. We’ve had a cold snap the last few days (down to 48F) so the rehabber told me to wait. To make sure he doesn’t go stir crazy in his box I’m taking him outside at dawn and dusk (and once in the afternoon) to go eat a buffet of grass and run around. In the morning he won’t leave my side (see video of him chomping away beneath my leg) but late in the day he will run around about 20-30 feet from me and play. I want him to get used to the sounds outside and find hiding places himself.

He’s getting quite nippy with me (definitely nips and not biting) to get me to give him attention but I’m trying to not respond too much to that, as much as I would love to cuddle him.

He’s eating a LOT and pooping a lot too. His ears are upright and he’s no longer cautiously crouching when he moves around. If he’s in his box and I need to pick him up he hops right into my hand. If he’s outside and he’s not done playing or eating he’ll bounce my hand away until he’s ready, where he climbs up onto m and nips my hand to pick him up.

The rehabber has told me if he doesn’t do well in my yard I can bring him to her land to release him. She also confirmed that his affection for humans will go away once he hits puberty thankfully!

Slated release right now is Thursday due to low temps
