I never had a pet rabbit and I really wanna get one!
I’ve been researching a lot about them & their care. lop bunnies just happened to catch my attention. but I always hear that they have health complications and it worries me a bit
Would u recommend lop bunnies to a beginner? Or are they that hard to take care of.

Yes. They are prone to ear infections, teeth problems, breathing problems and liver lobe torsion. If you get them adopt from a shelter and make sure you get pet insurance as chances are you will be at the vet often the older they get. I have a holland lop and lionhead. The holland lop is as cute as a button but she’s half deaf at 3 years old.
I have two lops brothers from seperate litters. They are 4 years old. No serious issues. Get a little Sneezy when I get to the end of a hay bailnand it’s dusty.
I would recommend a normal ear bunny first.
As other comments said, they are prone to ear, tooth and breathing problems- also to heart issues. they require more care than your average rabbit (i have to clean my bunny’s ears every other week and get her to get her teeth shortened by a vet every 2 months). because the way their ears are shaped, you it’s hard to even see issues in their ears until often the infection has spread and requires surgery/a whole lot of care at home.
Get two at least. And yes, they are more likely to get stuff like ear infections.
