Small Animal Surgeon Advice

Our female mini lop Milky, roughly 20 months old, needs to get fixed. We live in a college town of 50k. Our vet is a generalist with some small animal experience (she said she does a few of these surgeries a year). The nearest rabbit specialist is two hours away. Milky hates carriers. Obviously there are factors for which I don’t have the information to share as far as how qualified each vet is. In general, is the spaying surgery risky enough that we should go two hours for a specialist? We don’t plan to have Milky around other bunnies in the forseeable future, so the rationale for getting the surgery is more about the possible risk of reproductive cancer associated with not getting the surgery.
