One of my bunnies has had urine scalding, excessive drinking, and peeing outside the litterbox in seemingly random spots. I adopted him last September and have been trying to help him with it ever since. I have to clean and dry his tail almost every day.
I took him to the vet a few weeks ago and she basically just told me to monitor his drinking for a few days after a urinalysis came back ok. She also said something about possible bloodwork but I think she wanted me to make sure he was still having symptoms? I forget now.
We separated him from the others and measures him water intake for 3 days in a row, and he drank 34oz, 40oz, and 34oz each day respectively. Called the vet back but all she said was he might be bored or just really like drinking water from a bowl because he didn’t have one before.
Anyway I took a picture of the receipt from the vet but she said his tests were fine. He also still had some fleas still so she gave him some Revolution. I also added a photo of what his rear end looks like if I don’t clean it for him.
I was gonna follow up with the vet again but then my other bunny had a head tilt and then suddenly passed away the morning after I had took him to the vet too.
I just really don’t want to lose another bunny because I lost 2 in the last six months. But I also know my partner and I are struggling with finances after all that and me losing my job. He was already upset that we paid for the vet just to say “well he might just like water”.
I’m just so lost. Everyone always says I’m just being paranoid but then when I wasn’t paranoid enough my bunny died…. I still miss my two babies.. I can’t handle it a third time or I might end up in a psych ward or something…. I wasn’t even gonna post again because I keep spamming this subreddit….
