For those who don't know, if a mother rabbits den is destroyed or moved, she will assume her babies are dead and won't look for them. Instead, they will move on and go make a new nest for their next litter somewhere else. If you find a rabbit nest, place two sticks over it in a cross overnight to see if the mother is still around. If the sticks have been disturbed, the mom is fine and feeding her babies. If they have not, call a rabbit rescue or rehaber, as the babies will need help.
It's extremely difficult to get a wild bunny to survive without It's mother. I'm so glad they raised to release. The survival rate is very low other wise. Once on greens they need to be released, they can eat on their own. They can't survive on domesticated rabbit food. It's completely different than in the wild. ❤
At summer camp where I worked on the weekend a rabbit got killed by coyote and she had little bunnies some of us each took one home to raise and mine was the only one that lived and I brought it back and let it go so funny would play with my cat
27:11 “But dare I say I kinda like their company, just walking around here, I mean the whole base is safe” SIR IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT SAFE YOU WILL LOSE THEM AT SOME POINT IF YOU CHOOSE THIS PATH 😭😭😭🫶
I guess the expectation for people is at an all time low when you see sooo many "thank you comments" for an act that should come aa nqtural as instinct
My dog found a baby bunny in its den in our yard one morning and I managed to get him to drop the bunny but I was afraid it was injured bc it was right next to its hole and wouldn’t go back in… I pushed it into the hole with a gloved hand and saw there was a second baby bunny hiding inside. I called animal control to come help them bc I knew my dog would go right back the very next trip outside and mama bunny would probably reject them from his scent. They came, picked up both babies, and rehabilitated them until they were old enough to be released again. ❤

Thank you for rescuing this lovely little animal. ❤❤❤
I didn’t think releasing an animal into the wild once it’s been raise from a baby by humans was a good idea…
Your husband just built that awesome hutch?! I mean yes, it's a lovely story, but lets not overlook that carpentry! Saved $$ too..

❤thanks for taking care of baby bunny, EASTER BUNNY 🐰 🐇 💕
GOD BLESS YOU!
I was taught that rabbits are old enough to survive on their own as long as their eyes are open. Is that not right?
And then a hawk swooped down and carried him away.
Fun fact: Any wild rabbit will leave the nest and is able to survive on its own at 3 weeks old!
