I’m so tired…

Anyone know how to stop this?! Some of these were avoidable, however, some were unexpected. One of these was on a desk that was entirely unacceptable unless she jumped vertically. there is a lot of stress in our lives right now which might contribute but I’m not sure. Does anyone have any advice?

If it’s something that you’ve tried to bunny-proof and you can’t afford to replace, you can always splice the cable with a soldering iron and some rosin core wire. I’ve replaced power cables, spliced wires, etc. because of my rabbits. I use shrink wrap or electrical tape to keep things together. Use cable covers to help protect the spicy hay. Bunnies are gonna chew things no matter what you do to try and prevent it. Might as well pick up some electronic skills to save yourself some money.

Honestly the easiest method of getting around my boys getting places where they don’t belong – or things they shouldn’t have, is boxes. Don’t want the great rotund overlord on your desk while you’re out ? Put a few boxes up there. Have an outlet you just cant block off otherwise ? Throw something moderately heavy in a few boxes around it.

It doesn’t look great, but it works.

Honestly had this issue as well. My rabbit mainly stayed in my room (because my parents didn’t allow him to roam through the house), and imagine that in this room I also have a gaming setup! I went through about 3 headsets because he would always find a way on top of my desk.

If possible, just find a space for him where there aren’t wires. Or where are the least amount of wires, then those just either protect them with cable protectors or put them places where your rabbit can’t reach.

there are cord sheaths you can buy on amazon, highly reccomend as prevention and then i started buying a variety of chew toys so that the cords were less exciting

You can use cord protectors. Or an option is to block off places with many cords. I noticed you had a bunch of cords lying on the floor with your bunny beside them. Block them off or cover them up. You can get inexpensive gritter trail off of amazon, or you can use whatever boxes you have. Or if there is a room with a lot of cords, just keep the doors closed.

Cord protectors will save your life (or at least your cords). As someone living off gov’t $$, I know hie you feel.

Cord protector and idk if this works for everyone but as soon as my bunny learned from her new husbun she can chew on wood she prefers it 😅

Cord protectors are really cheap, cheaper than replacement cords, and you will not appreciate how much less stressful it will make your life until you get some if your rabbit has a taste for wire – which is a natural byproduct of their instinct for keeping the warren free of growing roots. Have had bunnies who went after ever available wire, others who could not care less, and some who had a taste just for expensive Apple chargers. You can also get cheap little barriers to wall off the bottom of a table that has descending wires behind it.

Just to add some perspective, i’ve watched one bunny i had jump from a stand still up on a kitchen counter. He stopped doing it as he got older, but they can jump a lot higher than you think if they want to get somewhere.

The few cords I can’t put behind a fence I put protectors on, and some areas (like my computer) they cannot get to at all. I even have a short fence around the TV in case anyone gets any ideas.

  11. I but those $3 thick cardboard poster board things. Line my wall between the plug and whatever furniture is near by and keep all cords tucked behind it. My small phone chargers I use in bed and make sure to keep it under the pillow

The only thing you can do is cover them. It’s cheaper than buying new cords!

  13. In EU we have ground fault protection, Φ-relay.
With bun it went down like 3 times a day. Yes cable protector

  14. Cable organization boxes, wall cable organizers, cord protectors, and/or a physical barrier (cardboard/gate/furniture/closing door.) It’s not always the prettiest, but you have to pick some battles. If the bun jumps on the desk, maybe invest in a mobile/compact gate around the premises so they can’t get the launch height needed to reach it again.
