Oh my gosh. Take him in if you can or take him to your closest rabbit rescue. Poor guy.

  2. This is so sad. Poor thing must be so frightened. Imagine if a cat or dog comes around, there’s no where for him to go hide. He can easily die of fright. Call a rabbit rescue if you can or take the rabbit in yourself. The owners probably won’t care or notice.

There’s a rabbit rescue in Pittsburgh, PA. Please call them! You may save this little guy’s life.

Poor guy. So sad. No hay. First off Rabbits do not do good mentally in cages. Would you wanna live in a space the size of your bathroom? Would you keep a cat in an equal size cage? 50degrees is not the issue at this point, but it cannot stay there. Do you think they are going to care for it when it’s freezing out? Can you imagine how hot it gets under there, especially if it’s in direct sunlight! This is obviously an easter gift that is past the exciting stage. Maybe someone realized allergies or it makes noise at night. Eventually a predator animal is going to find it and make an easy meal out of it and you are going to wake up to a crime scene. Either that or they are going to get overburdened taking care of it and are just going to abandon it somewhere. You need to help get this animal out of this situation by explaining this is a 10 year proper commitment or they need to surrender it to someone who can properly care for it. Or alert an animal or better yet Rabbit rescue. Hell I would even be willing to take him.

How can people let him/her live like this ? Alone, with no games, no friend, no hay, no litter box..

She/he probably needs vet care too.

  5. vyralinfection

Why even have a pet if you’re going to keep it like a prisoner? Food and water, once a day, and then no contact.

  6. rumblestrutt

Idk if Animal Friends takes rabbits but that is also a good place.

Idc what anyone says. Take that rabbit. Those “owners” dont deserve it. F*ck them. They lost the right to own that sweet baby because they are clearly incompetent and abusing it. Please take the bunny to a rescue 🥺

  8. Redneckwithwifi

Please please please take this little baby to a rescue. They are being abused.

  9. Oh no! You may have no bun knowledge, but you are def a bun friend for noticing and asking for advice. This is absolutely not ok and like the others have said please call a rescue. Please update and thanks for helping this poor lil dude

  10. I would call a rescue, not just take it. You don’t know the situation of the owners, maybe they somehow don’t realise it’s not okay, maybe they have mental or financial issues and do actually love the bunny a lot, but just don’t know a better way to take care of it. At least a rescue service would know how to find the owners and break the news to them that this is not ok and how to go from there.

I have no idea if this is the best course of action anywhere, but it’s what I would do in my country. At least the owners would know what happened to their bun if it does need to be taken away from them and they may be able to help allert any other services for mental or financial aid if necessary.

Please help him. I beg you. Take him to a vet and then to a rehabber.

  12. JellyfishFlat

    Naaw!

    Is he/she doing okay?

If you’re not equipped to shelter them, please take him/her to the nearest vet!

Poor thing looks like they have such a personality! Would make a great companion to a loving, adoptive family!

Quite the photogenic one too, if I may add.

This is NO WAY TO TREAT A LOVED ONE! 😤😠

The owners should NOT have pets!! 😣

Please keep me updated on the situation, if you can.. This really saddens me. 😞

  13. Emily_theNotSoGreat

Please get that poor rabbit out of there anyway you can 🤦🏽‍♀️ people are so careless

  14. Dancing_Fairy

Omg I feel so bad for the bunny! Please save him/her 🙁 The little one needs a proper home with lots of hay and love!

The way this poor bunny is living is atrocious. I don’t agree with having rabbits outside to begin with, but if that is what is chosen it should at least be kept clean for the rabbit. Rabbits also love space to hop around and do binkies. This is such a sad life. Save the little thing. Fresh water and unlimited fresh Timothy hay are the basics. Pellets should only be provided in small handful a day to ensure prime health. A hay feeder with a litter box in one combo is the best bet to keep their space clean and easier for you to keep clean as well. Change it out every other day. Bunnies are natural social beings. It won’t last long living that way. Rabbits average lifespan is about 10-12 years, but when they are exposed to this type of lifestyle they’re lucky if they live 2 years.

P.S. Those water feeders are not good for rabbits. They much prefer a regular water bowl. Imagine bending your neck all the way upwards every time you want some water. You’d end up getting a stiff neck.

You’re a good bun friend for noticing. Now, I advise you care for it yourself if you have the means or take it to a veterinarian.

  16. Poor thing, in a cage, no hay. Scared and depressed. Please help him

  17. Please, please, call animal control ASAP.
That’s no way for the bunny to live. Possibly, the owners are doing their best & animal control can assist them or hopefully, the people will relinquish him. Pleases, please call animal control. This is very unhealthy for bunny & heartbreaking. They need companionship & room to exercise.

OP, take this little guy in and join the bunny-owning family. I can imagine he/she will be scared at first, but before you know it you will receive a ton of love!

If you can’t (or don’t want to) take it yourself, please inform a rescue because this is no way to live, it’s like a solitary prison where it gets fed/watered like one a day.

Bad air conditions, stress, loneliness, dirty cage, bad diet… Save it or will die of an infection, GI stasis or stress.

  20. AmandaDarlingInc

Yeah that falls under willful abandonment. That baby would be in my car so fast. And I’d leave a note say “hey you despicable wet noodle of a human being, you’ve lost your bunny and if you want it back take it up with the ASPCA, I dare you 🙃” Legally you can’t abandon any non-native animal in the wild, cage or otherwise. Just because it’s on apartment property doesn’t change that. I’m sure your building manager would LOVE to know about this as well. AND there’s a point to be made that the bunny could also be a menace to tenants! Forget the regular things we vaccinate against… What if the bunny gets out, gets bit by a werewolf, doesn’t have its werewolf shots, bites a small child… This is exactly how wererabbit sagas start. You’re well within the bounds of being the hero in this situation if you get that little bun rehomed. They genuinely do not want to be caged or drinking from a bottle. This is animal cruelty.

  21. timmspinn

Please take it to a rescue. Don’t ask permission or anything. This is absolute neglect and a horrible life for that bunny. Whoever put it there obviously DOES NOT CARE about it. But they may act like it if you go to them, but they’ll turn around and do something worse. Aside from the terrible conditions, that is a life of isolation. Please save it.

  22. This is making me so sad. I can’t believe some people out there. What the fuck?!?! 😢😭

Makes me realize there are a lot more buns out there with lives like this. Not fair! I want to help all of them!!!

This is the complete opposite of how a bunny should live. 😥

  23. ColCancerman

Get it to a vet or a shelter asap. That’s no way for a rabbit to live.

  24. eastcoast82
