Odd tidbit and i may be misremembering. I think they do this cuz they are prey animals. They eant to be enclosed on all side in an area they feel predators couldnt reach. Of course they are safe in your home and likely know that since buns are smart, but probably like a species habit that makes them comfy. Its like a burrow, because they feel safe inside and buns usually cuddle up in the burrows for warmth and safety. So at least you know they feel at home there with you since theyve built their own little burrow lol.
