One of my bunnies did that when she was small and fell head first into the feeder. She freaked out and kept going deeper so I had to yank her out by her feet while yelling that she’s trying to kill herself.

Mine sits on top of the lid and pulls the stray hay from underneath

Just something to keep in mind.. I’ve noticed my rabbit has had trouble with his similar hay feeder.

I found there is a limit to how much he can or will go into those holes. He had a GI episode one day and I’m pretty confident it was because the hay was not accessible enough even though he had plenty. Since that day, I always make it a point to punch the hay through the holes on a regular basis so he can get to it easier and it hasn’t been a problem since.

But based on that, I’m thinking your rabbit may be jumping on top because that’s the easiest way they can get to the hay.

100% conjecture and unsolicited advice on my part, but like I said.. just something to keep an eye on.

You have a very cute fluffy bub on your hands 🤗

if your bun is anything like mine, it’s so that they can use the tall potty.

mine would jump up into the hay holder, literally just to pee all over it and then refuse to eat any more. little brat.
