Rabbit playpens are made for adult rabbits. This video shows us what to do to make a bunny playpen suitable for baby rabbits. Because baby bunnies need lots of exercise, The Rabbit Sanctuary chooses to provide a playpen instead of a cage or hutch. Floor vinyl is used on the playpen floor to provide a wipe over surface and is soft underfoot for the bunnies. To stop the babies going through the bars of the playpen wire mesh is applied to the lower part of the bunny playpen. Corflute is also great and easier to handle than wire mesh.
Baby bunnies Aloe and Vera were rescued from the Berry Council pound known as Shoalhaven Animal Shelter who surrendered them as soon as they let us know they had them. Everyone knows that a pound is no place for a bunny.
