does anyone know if this is stress induced or if hes just happy? or is it hard to tell
he does this when being pet and gives kisses, and stops it when hes not being pet and stops the noise.
This is not my bunny but my friends.

I think a bunny (under most circumstances) will let you know it’s unfomfortable. This seems pretty good 👍

Happy honks
bunnies are typically not vocal. So they reply on body language to get their point across.
You’ve got a few things going on here…the petting. If a rabbit didn’t like it, they would let you know by getting up, nipping at you, nudging your hand away etc.
They could even vocalize by growling or grunting to let you know they don’t like it.
Rabbits when happy do a few vocal things. The most common is purring or what I call chittering and which sound most like teeth grinding. Honking is another noise they make that can be both happy and sometimes bad. Rabbits will honk when extremely happy…during petting, eating food like bananas, etc.
But they can also honk when stressed or have respiratory issues.
This is a sign of a happy bunny…relaxed, enjoying attention…
Happy honks! My boy will do those And if I stop petting him not only will he stop with the noises but he will also head but me and try to nip me asking me why I stopped petting him in the first place 🤣
