Very recently one bun of my twin pair had to be put down unfortunately.
This has left Ciabatta (7 y.o).alone.
Very early on she started to show more affection to me and bonded with a Plushie. While this might seem cute, it's a behavioral issue and it just shows me how much she needs company.
I have been trying to look for a new male Partner in several Rescues and Shelters around my Area with no luck. There were either very young bunnies or groups of 3+.
The reason why I didn't want a younger bun is that I will enter this circle of the older bunny dying and needing to find a new replacement. Also the fact that she is entering Senior Age and I'm not sure if she can handle the higher activity of a youngster.
Are these concerns even valid? Does anyone have experience with this and could share their experience?
Is it okay to wait for a more suitable partner even if that means she will be only with me for a few more weeks/months?
Thanks to everyone in advance 🐇
