Hi friends- I’m not sure why I’ve never thought to share this here. I work at my local humane society with small animals, and have built a collection of resources to set our adopters up for success. Whenever adopting out single rabbits, we have a long conversation about what that means for most parties, and why rabbits do best in pairs.
I eventually wrote up this bonding guide to send home with owners and set them up for successful bonding. This is the process I’ve used with my own personal rabbits, specifically ones that don’t bond immediately and need things to go slow. In my experience, this method hasn’t failed us.
I wanted to share this with the group as a resource to offer to other rabbit owners or people who are nervous about bonding. I am also more than happy to take any advice or criticism you’d like to offer so I can keep this as accurate as possible for people that need it.
