Update on Sesame
It's been a long, dreadful last 20 days since I had broken Sesame's foot. He is a 6 year old Netherland Dwarf who is the sweetest, spunkiest guy. He darted underneath my foot while he was doing his breakfast dance, and I had stepped on it.
The splint therapy is not working, all 4 of his metatarsal bones are broken. The vet said we need to start thinking about amputation.
I cannot live with myself anymore, I have been crying so much, I cannot sleep, I cannot eat, I am trying so hard not to blame myself but it was a honest freak accident, and I am trying to stay positive.
Upon research, I've learned that tripod bunnies can live very happy, successful lives, and I believe Sesame will just be just fine, but I can't even bring myself to together to even think of all the pain and suffering I've been putting him through, and continue to do so after the amputation.
Does anyone have a tripod bunny, or even words of advice? Thank you so much…
