Bunny

My one-year-old rabbit was neutered. He used to be well-behaved, but now he’s getting worse and worse… any tips on how to manage his behavior?

We adopted him when he was about three months old, and he’s always been a sweetheart. He’s super affectionate and learned to use the litter box in a week (with positive reinforcement). The only problem was that he would pee on the couch about 2-3 times a week, and sometimes outside the box. Even so, we decided to neuter him to avoid future problems and such.

But it seems like it’s gotten worse.

He was neutered about two weeks ago, it was a very easy surgery and good recovery, but he’s been getting worse. He’s peeing/pooping on the couch more and more, and even on the hardwood floor and rugs. If you don’t do what he wants (like letting him chew on something he’s not supposed to, letting him go where he’s not supposed to, being half an hour late for feeding time, not giving him enough affection, etc.), he protests by peeing where he’s not supposed to.

(At the same time, the neutering has made him more needy, and we end up picking him up a lot more.)

Positive reinforcement (putting treats in the litter box) hasn’t helped much.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Can I ground him in his cage if he misbehaves?
