A while ago I saw a post here from a member with otitis. Because of this, I'd like to share our experience with Mr. Crowley. It started with symptoms of otitis; he would curl up in a ball and wouldn't let anyone touch him. After two days, he wasn't eating as much and started urinating on himself. Since dogs can't go a day without eating due to their fast metabolism, I took him to the vet quickly. He had an ear infection, and they started treatment. He was able to eat on his own, but things worsened over the next 15 days because it turned out he had a bacterial infection and was having seizures like epilepsy. He couldn't get up or control himself. I started sleeping with him in the main room and waking up every two to three hours to feed him, clean his urine, and prevent the moisture from his urine from hurting his bottom and paws. He then developed labyrinthitis after a month, and it lasted two more months. The treatment and multiple medications continued for two months and into the final month. I had been told that he would possibly be left with his head turned, but I refused to give up, so I started massaging his shoulders, neck, and jaw as often as possible each day. I did everything I could to pet him and show him love until he finally lay down on the floor, without any effort. I can say that he himself indicated to me the whole time that he needed love and that those massages were helping him because when I stopped, he would come to me for more as best he could. Today, after three months of suffering and suspense, we managed to overcome this illness and its horrible symptoms and consequences. Don't let your guard down; give lots of love, patience, and attention to what our little furry friends are telling us. My Mr. Crowley is doing very well today. I'm including a video of the beginnings of his labyrinthitis and how he stucks
