UPDATE 3/25/26: He is eating and pooping now so he's coming home on pain meds. I am scheduling an exam for next month to see if we can pinpoint if anything is causing him pain or stress. All of his x-rays today looked good.
Please send thoughts and prayers to my boy. One year and eleven days ago, he survived a horrible intestinal blockage and has been in peak health ever sinceā¦until last night. He had a scary stasis episode and we nursed him through it with gas drops, syringed water, critical care, and reglan. Today he was completely back to normal, until he suddenly began hiding and refusing treats. I made the decision to drop him off at my vet and he will have to stay overnight on IVs because his actual vets will not be in to do an examination until this evening. It was traumatic dropping him off and brought back every horrible memory I have from last year. Heās definitely not as bad off as he was last year, but I just want to figure out whatās wrong and I want him home.
My partner also has surgery first thing tomorrow morning, and every single person at work is on vacation except me, so this is horrible timing and I canāt handle how stressed I am.
