Hello everyone I am losing it and need advice. I have two bunnies, a male and a female, both fixed and have been together for over a year now. They have a very large enclosure which ranges almost an entire room (pic included). My female bunny, very randomly digs EVERYTHING out of the litter box. I switched to an enclosed litter box, increased the size, changed to wood pellets, added toys, increased treats, constantly making sure they have tons of hay, increased amount of time spent with them, and even put down the plastic sink cover so she couldn’t get to the litter. She has learned to pull the plastic out of the litter box and still dig. I understand that this is a natural behavior for them, but my other bunny does not do this at all and I don’t know what else to do besides add a metal bottom in the litter pan which I hate to do because it’s bad for their feet. They both get their nails clipped regularly too. She does it in random bursts, meaning she will go months without digging and then dig everyday for a week or two. I cannot really move the litter box otherwise they will be able to jump out of the enclosure or the litter from digging will go outside of the enclosure making cleaning even more difficult. Do I just need to accept the behavior an add a metal bottom? Has anyone had any other solutions? I have seriously seriously debated getting rid of her because i cannot handle it :(.
