A 5 years ago, I had two rabbits, and I lost both of them. One started tilting to one side due to what seemed like an ear-related injury, and the second died from bloating, even though I took him to a veterinarian for first aid. He passed away a few hours after we got home.
Now I’ve had another rabbit for about six months. I really want him to live a long life, and I feel envious when I see people on Reddit whose rabbits live 10-15 years or more. My current rabbit has already had bloating twice. Both times I rushed him to the vet, and they did everything possible to save him – and they did, thanks God.
I no longer want to rely on research, wikis, forums, ChatGPT, etc. when it comes to diet and care. I want comprehensive advice specifically from people who have kept rabbits for 10 years or more. Please give me advice, tell me how you avoid these kinds of problems.
Because I can’t always be with my rabbit all the time. I might not notice symptoms quickly enough, and even if I do, I might not be able to help in time if the condition has already progressed.
Right now, he lives in a separate warm room. I visit him 2-3 times a day, and each time I give either: a quarter of a carrot, or lettuce leaves, or cabbage. Twice a day I also give a slightly less than a tablespoon of LittleOne (Rabbits) pellets. He also has 24/7 access to hay and water.
Please help me – share everything you think might be useful
