Rabbit

Transitioning from having an entire bedroom for him to an xpen

Hello!

I'm moving with my rabbit to a smaller house and I'm not sure how to handle it.

My rabbit has free rein in a room all to himself (it's not a huge room, but still). In the room, he has a cage with hay, water, and his corner, which is always open so he can come and go as he pleases.

The thing is, in the new house I won't be able to give him a whole room, and I don't want him to be locked in his cage while my partner and I are out (plus he gets very stressed when I lock him up).

So I was thinking of buying an xpen with a little door, and I'm debating whether to get one with a roof. While he's alone, I can't let him out of the xpen, which is why I was thinking about the roof, but then it wouldn't be so different from locking him in the cage. I had looked at this https://www.amazon.es/dp/B089GLZXJX?ref=emc_s_m_5_i_atc . It's the same height as his current cage, but it's almost 20 cm longer and wider.

What do you think? I need advice. I want the best for my pet, but I can't let him chew up half the house when I'm not there. Will a xpen that's bigger than his current cage help reduce the stress of being locked up? Has anyone had similar experiences? (I'm a little desperate.)

(his name is Fei)
