1st time bun mom who was worried as all hell… my worry has dissipated. I realized within the first 72hrs Stella has shown so many signs that she's happy here in her new home. I apologize for the long post. I have no one to really talk to about this, so I figured y'all would like to hear about her progress.
This morning Stella Bella came right up to her cage door to greet me and for the last 2 days has came up to me sniffed my face, nudged my knee with her nose and even ate her pellets out of my hand when her bowl was closer to her 😍
This morning she was super excited for her breakfast & was very curious when I came into her room to start our day, sniffing my ankles getting on hind legs all ready for the leafies I had prepared or her. While she ate I did my thing with her litter box(I change it daily so i can keep track of her poops & pees) and she felt safe enough to keep her back to me eating while I was moving around in the other room.
After litter & and feeding, she came up to me nudged me and wanted me to pet her for the first time! I was elated. I've been refraining from trying to pet her(I've lost willpower a few times, and she wasn't too upset, but still), so her wanting me to pet her was big.
All in all, as a Chronically ill & depressed girlie, having Stella in my life has given me so much purpose and fulfillment, and it hasn't even been 3 days the routine needed for Stella was exactly what my brain needed. I now eat breakfast with her something I used to skip frequently, and I actively feel more motivated to take care of myself due to caring for Stella.
