Sharing because searching the internet gave me nothing but anxiety, so hopefully this helps someone else out in the future!
The other night my old man was splooted out, and I noticed a white spot on top of his foot where there normally wasnt. We checked it out and found he had something either stuck to his foot or growing. It was hard, rock or nail like, white, and DEFINITELY something we didn't have in the house that could have gotten stuck to him.
Took him to the vet, and they were able to remove it easily. There was a bit of bleeding, but they used skin glue to seal it up right away. We're getting it biopsied to be safe, but the vet didn't seem too concerned. He called it a "horny growth", which im assuming he meant a cutaneous horn.
